What is the average cost of being an exchange student to Italy? I have been doing some research because I am interested in becoming an exchange student to a place such as Florence or Venice, Italy. One site said it would cost me about 13,000 dollars! Is that a reasonable or average price? Thanks! Studying Abroad - 1 Answers Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions : 1 : Hi I am from Italy and have moved to the United states, however my family likes there and I visit them twice a year. Well How long are you going for? also what do you plan on ding while there for example will your meals be covered in the total bill or will you be responsible for that, how will you travel? by bis train eurail? Italy is expensive because of the Euro being so high, the exchange rate is 1 euro is about .62 cents so to make one euro you need almost two dollars. Venice is expensive as is Florence, you can walk around florence so your transportation will be cheap, but venice if you are considering the center of venice transportation can be difficult and expensive since it is not on land. If you will be going lets say for the whole summer, you have to take into consideration your pass times, will you travel, plan out your schedule, the eurail pass for students is very convenient and affordable and allows you to see europe. If you plan on stay ing around tuscany, 13, 000 dollars is approximately 6500 euros that can last you three months to 4 months depending on what you plan to do with your money. a pizza slice and a soda an be like 5 euros, a bus ticket is 2 euros, a club is like 30 euros, so it depends. good luck and have a blast. www.RailEurope.com/Official also you can google italian web sites by going to www.google.it, almost everyone in Italy speaks English.
