I'm sure Florence Design Academy will help you find jobs. You can always create a website and offer interior design help. Or you could create a website and become a travel agent for english speakers going to italy. Or sell things on e bay. These are just some of the many things you could do.

How do i visit Italy for a weekend on a student's budget?

How do i visit Italy for a weekend on a student's budget?
Hi, I'm a student studying abroad this semester in Paris. I am on a ridiculously tight budget and won't be able to spend alot of money on anything other than the necessities. i *do* however want to visit Italy (and England too maybe/hopefully) for a weekend, I don't have classes Friday so I would probably leave then or Thursday and come back Sunday. How much would the trip cost including getting there, hostels, etc.? Thanks!

Go on the school travel club?
2 :
There are many ways to travel on a shoestring budget once you're in Europe. Book your train tickets ticket well in advance. Visit French Rail's Web site to see what advance booking savings are available, www.sncf.com. Limit your visit to northern Italy so you won't have to travel too far. Cities such as Bologna and Ravenna are spectacular and less touristy than Venezia or Roma. Look at Web sites such as TripAdvisor.com to identify good but affordable places to stay. Sometimes a pensione (similar to a B&B) in a suburban town is even cheaper than a hostel. Eat your main meal in the middle of the day, taking advantage of the posted "menu," which often includes soup or salad and a main course at substantial savings or a-la carte prices. Or shop at a market for bread, meat and cheese and have an "urban picnic" in a park and people-watch. Be sure you buy the International Student Identity Card. It offers free or deeply discounted admissions to museums, climbing cathedral towers, and other attractions. Two or three days of use pretty much covers the cost of the card. It also comes with a modest traveler's insurance. Visit www.myisic.com. Certainly take full advance of the incredible opportunity to venture into other countries during your semester in Paris. In addition to London (just 2.5 hours by Eurostar train), there is Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and Luxembourg, all just waiting for you to come exploring!
3 :
There's a night train that leaves Paris from the Bercy station at 6:52 pm and arrives in Florence at 7:13 am the next morning - if you buy a ticket in advance and the Smart price is not sold out, you can get a berth in a 6 bed compartment for 35 euro. You could also continue on the same train to Rome. There's a similar night train returning to Paris. There's also a night train from Paris Bercy at 10:33 pm that arrives in Venice at 9:34 am the next morning for a similar price. There are other (higher price) discounted levels on tickets if the Smart price is sold out. Personally, I like the night trains and use them between my home in northern Italy and Paris when ever I go. Check into hostels for the stay while you're here. http://www.hostelworld.com/countries/italyhostels.html?source=googleadwordscountry&gclid=CIbn7vWnnp8CFcmOzAodeRng7g One caveat - Carnevale is coming up in February - it's likely that the discounted fares will already be sold out for at least the 6th through the 16th. However, it's much quieter the week before and after Carnevale and you might be able to find cheap tickets and cheap places to stay then or toward the end of January. You can eat fairly cheaply if you stick to panini, wraps, pizza by the slice, or bruschetta available at the bars or other food stands.

Possibly. If something looks shady. I've been stopped by immigration several times. I just cooperate and eventually get sent through...as long as you have nothing to hide, you are just fine.
2 :
Don't see why they would as long as everything seems legitimate and they don't think you'll try to stay in the country for any reason. As long as you have all of that (and enough money to cover you're expenses while you're there) you should be fine.
3 :
They can for any reason they want...Its a learning experiance for any American, especialy a naive one. They do it in our own borders but not frequent enough I believe..... If you were just wondering, don't take anything illegal anywhere! You might find prisons/ Jails are nothing like in U.S.
4 :
If your papers are all OK the only reasons can be: there's a warn about you by Schengen system or you're considered a treat to public order and public health or national security.

Siena, San Gimignano, San Miniato and other small towns are gorgeous, you should really spend some time there. I would make stops in Toscana (Tuscany) rather than in Lazio...I'd visit just Rome in this region and then I'd head north, to Toscana (where Firenze is). If you want to keep costs low, you should try to look for some hostels on hostelworld.com, which is always really helpful. Go to Lucca if you have the chance, it's a small lovely city quite near Firenze. After Toscana, you might want to visit Bologna and Ferrara in Emilia-Romagna and finally Venice. On average, these places shouldn't be too expensive...it's up to you to try and find some cheap hostels, cafés and restaurants!

It's not so hard to get a student visa. You don't submit the request until you've been confirmed to be admitted for the entrance exams. It's certainly a lot easier than getting a work visa. The Italian government site for visas is here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp It will provide a link to the application form and tell you what supporting documentation you need. Basically, you'll need to prove that you can support yourself while here ( right now the requirement is showing resources of at least €350.57 per month of the academic year and have a declaration of lodgings. You apply at the consulate that has jusridiction over your area of the country. Inb your case, that's could be the embassy or maybe the consulate in Philadelphia. I had to go to Chicago from Denver for my work visa. Good luck!

no it's not difficult but obviously you must have some money for having could be request to deposit money from 3000$ to 5000$ p.s. go to milan emh im italian uf you want another informations contact me

What is a normal school day like for a high school student in Italy?
I'm in high school right now and I was curious as to how a school day is for a student from Abruzzo or even from any high school in Italy
Studying Abroad - 1 Answers

1 :
Well, I'm not from Abruzzo, but I live in Modena, Italy :D normal school day? Okay :) I usually wake up at 6.40 am and then exit home at 7.30 to take the bus; we don't have school buses here, and everyone needs to get at school by common buses, or by bike, moped or car (in this case, parents usually have to take you to school, cause we can't drive a car till we're 18 :P). I stay at school from 8.00 to 1 pm and then I go home. Lessons are over, but you can stay at school in the afternoon if you want to join after-school activities such as the School Magazine or Drama.. these give you some credits ;) School lasts from the second week of September to the second one of June. Oh yes! There are some other differences :P - We don't need to stay at school to eat, so there's not a cafeteria :P but some schools have a cafè, a simple one, no tables.. just food and cans :P - Our classes are a lot different. Before we start our first high school year, someone defines some groups of people (usually around 26-30 kids), and there are gonna be our classes for the following 5 years. Usually nothing changes, unless someone's school year gets rejected (dunno how to translate it XD). This happens when your marks are too terrible, and you have to repeat all of your courses... - The class always stays in one room only. Teachers need to move around the building to get to class, not us!! :D We don't have lockers and always need to carry a rucksack with lots of books.... - School choice is COMPLETELY different :P We can choose between different types of schools; Classic Lyceum (with Latin and Ancient Greek, and just a few Maths), Scientific Lyceum (with Biology, Phisics, lots of Maths and no Greek [this is mine!! :D]), and high schools specialized in other subjects, like artistic or technical education, modern languages or education itself. Once you are in one of these schools, you must study ALL the subjects!! - We don't have a prom, or a school sports team, or cheerleaders, or... well, I think you got it :P Hope I've been helpful :D

I doubt it. I believe all the credits you get there will be transferred to where you live.
2 :
Talk to your counselor and your program because not all credits will transfer. Some countries it's harder to transfer credits from and it is different with every program and even every abroad school. It's different for every program/person so you should talk with those people about this before hand.

What are your interests? If you're looking for beaches, the area from Rimini to Gabicce Mare in Emilia Romagna are popular. You'd probably particularly like Rimini and Riccione. If you go, you can catch a bus from the Rimini train station to San Marino for a day too. Viareggio on the west coast is also popular. If you're interested in the cultural side of Italy, try Florence or Rome. For nature and scenery, you could visit Cinque Terre.

The beach areas like Rimini, Riccione or Viareggio would be good. Or there's always Rome and Florence. It really depends on your interests.
2 :
will it be in summer ? IT all depends on what you 'like'. Around the summer holidays many italians travel to their favorite beach destinations, leaving many cities dead of life! For a good lively holiday in the summer it would be best to visit these places : the island of Sardinia is a popular resort, Salerno, Rimmini just to name a few, nice beaches and lots of life. However if you want to go to a city, rome, milan and bologna have high student populations and are always lively all year round.

I think Sicily or Rome are perfect

Well, he'd have to change to some other sort of status, or he'd become illegal. Some students find employers to file work petitions for them, but this has become harder of late as these petitions are limited in number and run out very quickly each year. This year's quota has already come and gone and there will be no more until next April. If he wanted to continue to study in grad school, that might also be possible. However, if his status runs out before he can apply for something else, he won't be able to change here and would have to go home to apply. If he's out of status for 6 months or more, he would be ineligible for any visa for at least 3 years, so at that point, he wouldn't be able to get a visa to return even if he left.
2 :
What George mention is true but also if your friend is on F1 status he can stay for 1 more year doing he's OPT if is approve. That will buy him some time to find a way to change he's status. Now if you so interested in that friend you can also marry him and file a petition for immediate relative, I-130 & I-485 change of status that will resolve his problem LOL.
3 :
Very hard the laws have changed he would have to go back. Just to apply and it will take a long time.

What is the average cost of being an exchange student to Italy? I have been doing some research because I am interested in becoming an exchange student to a place such as Florence or Venice, Italy. Well How long are you going for? also what do you plan on ding while there for example will your meals be covered in the total bill or will you be responsible for that, how will you travel? by bis train eurail? Italy is expensive because of the Euro being so high, the exchange rate is 1 euro is about .62 cents so to make one euro you need almost two dollars. Venice is expensive as is Florence, you can walk around florence so your transportation will be cheap, but venice if you are considering the center of venice transportation can be difficult and expensive since it is not on land. If you will be going lets say for the whole summer, you have to take into consideration your pass times, will you travel, plan out your schedule, the eurail pass for students is very convenient and affordable and allows you to see europe. Try to search on erasmus.. and the school you want to in Italy. I hope i can help you. Good luck!

You become an exchange student by first contacting a student exchange program like AFS, Rotary, or YFU. Then you apply by collecting lots of papers etc. You should talk to you counselor, because you need to work out what classes you will take before and after you go. You can go for a semester, summer, or year. You don't have to have straight A's. If you have B's or even a few C's you should be okay. Here are some sights of programs about how to become one: http://www.yfu-usa.org/ http://www.usa.afs.org/usa_en/focus_on/high_school http://www.rotary.org/en/StudentsAndYouth/youthprograms/RotaryYouthExchange/Pages/ridefault.aspx And here are some other good websites for exchange students: http://www.cultures-shocked.org/Joomla/forum/ http://www.exchangestudentworld.com/ ~good luck!

First you need to contact Italian Consulate or Embassy http://www.ambottawa.esteri.it/ambasciata_ottawa http://www.consvancouver.esteri.it/Consolato_Vancouver and ask for a student visa. You need to declare you have sufficient money to stay in Italy for al the period of your studies, that you have a place (house or room) where to stay in Italy, the ticket for coming back in your country or the money to buy it and so on. You have to take with you passport, photos, a document of the school that declare you came in Italy for study, anyway at Embassy they'll explain it better than me (and in a good English... sorry for my poor English)
