How can I get the chance to become an exchange student? (overseas)?
I am so jealous of this girl in my school, she went to Italy for the student exchange :( I've wanted to be an exchange student since a long time ago since Im really interested in studying cultures from different ethnics in different places. Where to apply? (Im not American) How much is it? Is it safe? Experiences?

well what country are you from (if not America) IM from Australia and am going on exchange later in the year Steps: 1. Choose a Program, if you are in a Australia then some good ones are 'Southern Cross Cultural Exchange' (The one i'm using) or AFS 2. Depending on were your going and how long it should vary, but it should be anything between 7,000 and 11,000. Often the length of the program your using does not effect the cost as the cost is mainly for tickets 3. Regarding that you choose a proper well known organization it is very safe. You should have a overseas coordinator and each member of you host family will have been thoroughly screened and background checked. If there are any issues between you and your host family then often the program is quick to find you a replacement one. 4. Like i said i am leaving in about 2 months for America and i'm staying for 5 months. I have started a vlog on Youtube following my time in America and you can watch it here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo53ayYAp9s you can leave any comments or contact me with any questions at anytime i am greatly looking forwards to it and it should be one of the greatest experiences of my life, i strongly suggest looking into it Any additional information you might need to know: As far as I know you can be involved from ages 14-18 (this will depend on you organization) They send you to almost all the countries in the world (this will depend on your organzation) The application program can often be long So this is all that I can think to tell you at the moment, however keep in mind that this only applies to the Australian organizations and im not sure what it is like for other countries Iook into it as it should be an amazing experience and definatly not one to be forgotten.
