What is the liveliest town/small city in northern italy?
On student exchange in italy and I want to go check out a couple smaller cities in northern italy. What ones are beautiful, have great nightlife, nice people, etc?

Verona, Bergamo, Padova. Pretty small towns, university towns, big enough to have great nightlife.

Lucca is just adorable but maybe does not have such a great nigntlife.
