I have searched many sites for this visa information and they never specify if you can get a student visa when you are only taking 1-3 classes and will not be a full time student! does anyone know? I will appreciate any answers or resources.....Thank you...

In general, obtaining a student visa for studying in Italy is a surprisingly long, drawn-out, and cumbersome process as compared to getting visas for other countries. Italian authorities are relatively stringent in handing out visas. If you're planning on studying in Italy definitely get the visa process started quickly, because you really don't know how many delays there will be and how long it will take. If you need information on obtaining a student visa for Italy a good online resource is www.gullivergo.com. The site has helpful tips as to which Italian consulates you can contact in your area and which type of Visa you'll need to get. There are also discussion forums where you can talk to present and past study abroad students to find out how many courses are required for a student visa. With most study abroad programs there are temporary visas available. Good Luck!
